Ben, a dedicated and accomplished public health practitioner, began his journey in the field of health sciences with a Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Zambia. In August 2023, Ben furthered his academic credentials by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Texila American University in Lusaka, Zambia. With over a decade of experience in both governmental health facilities and non-governmental organisations, Ben has effectively positioned himself as a significant contributor to public health initiatives in Zambia.
Ben is a fully registered Environmental Health Technologist (EHT) with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), Throughout his career, he has participated in various specialised trainings, including Monitoring and Evaluation essentials from the USAID Global eLearning center, project planning fundamentals, community engagement in emergency preparedness and response with UNICEF, and sanitation marketing initiatives.
Currently, Ben serves as a Project Officer for the CBV CRI Project with On Call Africa in Livingstone, a role he has held since March 2024. Here, he is responsible for the recruitment and training of community-based volunteers, coordinating health initiatives, and managing data collection and analysis to inform health policies and practices.
With a wealth of experience, Ben is skilled in community engagement, health training facilitation, epidemic preparedness, and monitoring and evaluation. His expertise in data analysis using tools such as Excel, STATA, and Power BI enables him to deliver evidence-based recommendations and improve health programme outcomes. His strong communication skills, attention to detail, and collaborative approach have made him a respected figure among colleagues, stakeholders, and community members.
